How did Haydon & Company begin? In 1976, we had $1,500 saved in US Saving Bonds. We used this small amount to import Oriental Cloisonne, and we made our first sale to a local jewelry store. After the transaction, we had the funds to acquire a small amount of jewelry inventory – which we were fortunate enough to continue selling.
Our early success made me consider leaving my engineering position and devoting all of my time to the jewelry business. This decision provided new challenges, and I spent some difficult years learning as much as possible. I bought every book and magazine available as the business continued to grow. I quickly learned that the community lacked a jeweler willing to offer jewelry of truly exceptional quality.
Now, here we are, 40 years later with the same goal … providing the Triangle with exceptional jewelry made to last for generations to come.
